How To Setup A Website In Less Than 15 Minutes…

Hi there, are you trying to open your very first blog with your own domain name? Then you are going to first need a web hosting service. Hosting services make your website accessible and keeps the content safe. If you are a beginner (or even an intermediate) in the world of blogging, Bluehost is your best option out of all the other web hosting services. It is because Bluehost is not only very easy to use but also super cheap compared to the rest which is very important for new bloggers like you who haven’t started generating money through your blogs yet. Here is a step-by-step guide to getting started on Bluehost:

Step 1: Getting Started

Go to the website at www.bluehost.com

Click on the link above to go to the homepage. Then click on the ‘Get Started’ button to get on board this flight to your blogging career.

Step 2: Choose A Plan

You will be then brought to the Plans page. Scroll down to see the four plans offered by Bluehost and to compare between them. All four of these are amazing and offers a range of features but our advice is that you go for the Choice Plus or the Plus plan ( and if your budget allows then definitely the Pro). The Basic plan is great for portfolio sites but not for blogging. Choice Plus, Plus and Pro will give you more features to work with.

Step 3: Set Up Your Domain

Next, you’ll be taken the domain page. Here you will register your domain or buy a new one. Domain refers to the URL of your site. Make sure your URL stands out and has either your blog’s name or your name so that people can remember it. Be sure about this because you cannot change it later. The best thing about Bluehost plans is that they all come with a free domain so you do not have to buy it anywhere else.

Step 4: Filling in the details

Once you pick a domain name, you’ll be taken to a page where you have to fill in your account information, package information and choose package extras. First you’ll fill in your contact details and then move on to the term agreement.

Bluehost gives you the choice of a 12 months, a 24 months and a 36 months agreement whereas most of the other web hosting services charge you for 36 months upfront without giving any alternative choices. Upon choosing your plan term, move forward to the package extras.

Here, you can choose from 5 extra services that you can pay to add to your plan. We recommend you to purchase the Code guard basic. It backs up, restores and monitors you work so that you don’t lose them. It has saved our lives so many times.

After choosing your extras, you have to fill your billing details. Bluehost accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Paypal. You will be charged for the entire term that you chose upfront. (So if you chose the 12 months term and your package costs $5, you will be charged $5*12 as soon as you proceed). Once you are done with payments, you will move on to the Password page.

Step 5: Password Page

You are almost there! On this page you will select a password that you will be using to log in to your website to post, make changes, add content and so on. Choose a strong password to prevent hacking if you didn’t purchase the Security extra.

Step 6: Theme

Now you’ll be picking a theme for your website. You can either pick from Bluehost’s templates or upload your own.

Our favorite theme to use for affiliate marketing is one from www.thrivethemes.com

You may also choose to skip this step and do it later.

Step 7: WordPress

Next you can either go to the WordPress page and start building your site or go to your Bluehost account (cpanel). The WordPress page is where you can add new content and make changes to your blog if you chose a theme earlier.

If you didn’t then go to your Bluehost account, click My Sites in left hand site and then click create a site on the top right.

Next type in your Blog Title and Tagline and click next. Then choose your domain name from the drop down menu and WordPress will build your site in a few seconds.

Afterwards, you can also log in to your WordPress homepage to log in to your website.

Step 8: Publishing Your Blog

In your WordPress page, you will find a Coming Soon Button in orange. This means that anyone who types in your url and visits your website will see a Coming Soon page instead of your complete website.

Whenever you are ready, you can click the Coming Soon button and click launch your site, your site will be live.

(In your WordPress page, you can click on your Blog Title in the top left to visit your site and see how it will look for your audience. )

Final Step: That’s literally it. Congrats, you now have your very own website! Start creating new content for your audience.
